| Heavy music has been a synonim for rebellion since 40 years ago Be it in Black Sabbaths existencialism, or in the pollitical incorrecteness of Motörhead, or in the theatrics of Kiss, or in the political protest of Hardcore Punk. In the 80s, amidst the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, there appeared a generation to summarize all these influences, taking the sound of their predecessors a step further and generating Power/Thrash /Death/Black Metal, with greater or lesser doses of satanic imagery, provocation, dark humour, escapism and affirmatives. Venom was the first in this descent which revolutionized the way of playing Heavy Metal. It was continued by countless others throughout the world like Bathory, Sodom, Vulcano, Onslaught e Hellhammer... In the 90s, the political and economic conjuncture went through the fall of the iron curtain and global impoverishment, forcing a musical fall back and impoverishment. By the end of the 90s, a new generation rediscovers the challenging power of heavy music. Apokalyptic Raids destiny is to continue the heavy and provocative sound tradition, avoiding the mistakes and reiterating the good aspects of the previous generations. The band inherits a 20-year history in the scene, including own songs from 85 to 88 which havent seen the light of day until now. The first recording was a demo-rehearsal (self financed, 1999), which gave tracks to some compilations (Planet Metal, In Search of Weird Truth and Thrahsing Rage), and to the 7EP Maximum Metal Mayhem, released in Germany (Iron Bonehead Prods., 2001). Recorded in 2000, the début album Only Death is Real... was released on CD (Demise, 2001) and LP (Dies Irae, 2002), followed by some gigs to support it in Southeastern Brazil, including opening to Krisiun, Rebaelliun and Frank Black Fire Gosdzik, and also side by side with Farscape and Dominus Praelli. In 2002 the next album was recorded. 2003 witnessed the release of the second full-lenght The Return of the Satanic Rites on LP and (Dark Sun, 2003), with a cassette version in Poland (Time Before Time, 2003), followed by more gigs. This time there were openings to Vulcano, Chakal, Headhunter D.C., and with Farscape, Flageladör, Mausoleum, among many others. The band spent 2004 preparing the third album, between one and other gig. In 2005 they have released The Third Storm - World War III on CD and LP(Dark Sun) and in 2006 they have played in Slaughter Festival 2 and opening to Mystifier. Now they are in composition phase for the 4th album... |
