BIOGRAPHY:
Unleashed upon the world in 1990, GRAVEWURM started its demonic fornication with Funeral on guitar and Blood on bass/vocals, in the form of dark and cryptic doom/death metal influenced by the 80"s metal masters SODOM, SLAUGHTER, CANDLEMASS, KREATOR, VENOM, POSSESSED, HELLHAMMER and CELTIC FROST. Tyrant joined the "wurm horde for vokill assassinations in late 90. After 2 reh tapes "Morbid Death" 91 and "Bestial Wrath" 92, their 1st official unholy offering to the underground was their "Possessed by Darkness" demo in 93. This tape received much hatred and disgust due to it"s uncompromising, raw, and pure sick metal. Only a few maniacs really appreciated this tape...and such was the way for GRAVEWURM"s status in the scene. In 1994, they released follow-ups to their debut tape, "Infernal Impurity" 7" and later on in the year with session musicians, GRAVEWURM recorded the blood-drenched blasphemies of "Massacre in Heaven". Somewhat disappointed with the outcome of those sessions and lack of label interest for pressing the 7", they went forward in search of a new line up. After a few months, GRAVEWURM decided to enlist the vocal efforts of Tyrant once again. They proceeded to record the 1st LP "Ancient Storms of War" in 95. Due to financial limitations, the album only was put on tape and had a small release. This recording was later re-mastered by the merciless efforts of Blakk of Angelkill in 96. In 97 they recorded 2 tracks for their "Satanic Massacre" 7" which didn"t receive any label interest and therefore was never pressed. Those two songs, "invert the cross" and a cover of Hellhammers "reaper" were sent out only to a select few whom have supported GW since its beginning. Later on that year, the "On the Wings of Death" ep was recorded with session musicians. In summer of 98, Opyros, then of Nazgul"s Eyeriee Productions had received a copy of this from GRAVEWURM"s long time friend Don of the Dead of the mighty NunSlaughter and proceeded to contact them to make it an official release on his new label BARBARIAN WRATH in Germany. GRAVEWURM recorded a few tracks which ended up being put together as their "Command of Satan"s Blade" demo that winter. Then in 99 more tracks were written for the proposed 2nd LP but didn"t get to see the light of the moon until Feb. 2000 when GRAVEWURM guitarist Funeral joined hellish forces with Don of the Dead and Jim Sadist of NunSlaughter to record tracks for "Warbeast" . In July of 2000, the hordes of hell gathered for attack with the official release of "Ancient Storms of War" on Barbarian Wrath Records. The "Warbeast" session was released as a 7" vinyl by IRON BONEHEAD Productions, Germany in 2001. A cryptic yet brutal death metal barrage was penned and then recorded as the 2nd CD entitled "Dark Souls of Hell" which was released June 2002. In Fall of 2002, a special limited edition 4 way split 7" also featuring the metal hordes DERKETA, SADOMANIAC and WITCHBURNER, was released on Iron Bonehead Prod. With Funeral still at the helm of the "wurms warmachine, he enlisted hellish powers of Gelal of GRAND BELIAL"S KEY to produce/engineer the 3rd CD titled "Into Battle" for Barbarian Wrath Records for 2003. After the recording of that, but before its extended delay in release, Funeral wrote and demo recorded many more hymns of war and pain in the GRAVEWURM camp. Within a shroud of darkness, gloom and hatred he crafted the 4th album, to be titled ""Under the Banner of War"", and enlisted the drumming efforts of Joel from TOXIC HOLOCAUST to record the ""Carnivorous Monarchy"" cassette ep for Time Before Time Records in Poland. In early 2004, Funeral was joined by Zyklon (satanic shrieks of blood and war), Florence (4 string bestial attack) and Justin Goatblood (percussion and demonic fornication). Shortly thereafter, Justin left the band and was soon replaced by Mijail. Only 8 shows were played, but that was enough to ignite the hellfire for their nihilistic doomdeath onslaught to the hordes, which had not been seen since 94. 2005 was the release of "Under the Banner of War". It was the 4th and final cd for Barbarian Wrath Records. The cruel and hideous metal onslaught of the "wurm hordes continues onward..."
